The Future of our Valley is under threat ...
* Loss of local livelihood as tourism affected
* Loss of habitat for rare native birds and flora and fauna
* Dark skies will be ruined
* Potential effect on water courses and rivers
* Impact on historic environment e.g. iron forts, Roman road for which the valley is renowned
* Noise disturbance from the wind turbines and light strike caused by the blades will affect residents and visitors
* Thousands of tons of steel and concrete poured into turbine bases - NEVER leaves
* Cumulative landscape impact if Teviot wind farm goes ahead
* Entire industrialisation of the valley if the SPEN Cross Border pylons go ahead in the valley
* And finally, the closeness to the Eskdalemuir Seismic Array. Turbines will be positioned 11km-17km from the centre. Currently the MOD are refusing developers permission to place turbines close to the Array but this is now under review by the government.
